Terms of visit
The rules for bookings, play cards, parties and behaviour. Effective 3 September 2026.
By booking with, entering or playing at Maple Arcade Quest Ltd. at 1845 32 Avenue NE, Unit 12, Calgary, AB T2E 7C8, you agree to the following. They are short on purpose; if something is unclear, ask the desk.
1. Bookings and payment
Escape quests are private bookings priced per player: $28 for ages 13 and up, $22 for ages 12 and under, plus 5% GST. No deposit is taken for a standard quest booking; payment is due at the desk before the game starts. Party packages require a $50 deposit, and corporate bookings a 25 per cent deposit, both credited against the final bill. Prices can change between seasons; the price quoted in your confirmation email is the one that applies.
2. Cancellations, rescheduling and lateness
- Quest bookings can be cancelled or moved free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time. Later cancellations or no-shows are not charged but repeated no-shows may be asked to prepay future bookings.
- Party rooms can be rescheduled free with 72 hours' notice. With less notice the deposit is held for a future date within 6 months rather than refunded.
- Group bookings: free cancellation up to 7 days before; within 7 days the deposit is due, waived for weather closures or school-board cancellations.
- Quests start on schedule. Arriving up to 10 minutes late keeps the full game; beyond that the remaining time is shortened so the next booking is not delayed. No refund is given for time lost to late arrival.
- If we cancel (equipment failure, weather closure, staff illness) you get a full refund or a rebooking of your choice, plus a $10 play card for the trouble.
3. Ages and supervision
Quest minimum ages (6, 8 and 10) apply to the youngest player. Any group whose youngest player is under 10 must include an adult of 18 or over inside the room. In the arcade, children under 10 need an adult in the building and children under 6 an adult in the hall. Kids 12 and over may be dropped off if a parent's phone number is left at the desk. Parents and guardians remain responsible for their children throughout the visit.
4. Play cards and wristbands
Play cards are free and reloadable. Credits start games and have no other use; they cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another card except through the desk, or refunded once loaded, other than a credit swallowed by a faulty machine, which the desk will restore. Credits expire 12 months after the last top-up. Wednesday unlimited wristbands are personal and non-transferable, valid 16:00 to 21:00 on the day of purchase.
5. Conduct
We will ask anyone to leave who damages equipment, is aggressive toward staff or other guests, ignores queue rules after a warning, brings in alcohol, or smokes or vapes anywhere on the property. In that case unspent play card credits are refunded; quest and party fees are not. Damage caused deliberately or through recklessness will be charged at repair cost.
6. Quest rooms
Rooms are monitored by camera and two-way audio for the whole game. Doors open from the inside at all times and the game master can stop the game at any request. Do not force, climb on or disassemble props; anything that needs force is not part of the puzzle. Phones and cameras stay outside the rooms so the puzzles remain a surprise for the next group, and we ask that you not publish solutions online.
7. Food, personal property and lost items
Outside food is allowed in the snack corner and party rooms only. Lockers are free; we are not responsible for items left in coats, on machines or in the rooms. Found items are held for 30 days and then donated or recycled.
8. Health and safety
Play at your own risk and within your ability. Tell staff about any medical condition that could be affected by flashing lights, fog effects, confined spaces or physical activity; all three can be reduced or removed from a quest on request. Report any injury to the desk immediately so we can help and log it. Guests take part in quests and use machines at their own risk, except where loss results from our negligence, which nothing here excludes.
9. Photography
You may photograph and film your own group in the arcade and party rooms. Please do not film other guests, especially children, without their guardian's consent. We do not photograph guests for marketing without written permission.
